Welcome! I’m Amanda Odell, MS, MHP, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Washington since 2015. I work with a variety of adults in therapy, especially those who are navigating life transitions, burnout, identity exploration, and relationship challenges, which might look like symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and/or trauma. My work centers on helping people feel more confident showing up as their whole, authentic selves.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and creative. I draw from a range of modalities, including experiential and emotion-focused therapy, Internal Family Systems (parts work), CBT, DBT, family systems, and trauma-informed care. I'm currently completing EMDR certification to deepen my work with clients processing trauma or feeling stuck. I often bring metaphor, curiosity, and a sense of playfulness into the therapy space, making room for insight, humor, and genuine connection.
I work with a variety of individuals, but especially have experience with supporting people who show up for others every day, such as parents, therapists, educators, and those whose lives are connected to the military. These are roles I understand all too well. The emotional weight and complexity that can come with these roles and service-connected life are unique for these individuals. I aim to provide a space where those experiences are seen and supported within their complexities.
I named my practice Anchored Empowerment Therapy to reflect the deep belief that healing and growth begin by anchoring into your own values, identity, and community, and from there, empowering yourself to live more fully aligned with who you are and who you want to become. And now, the rest of your life is yours to write and thrive within.
I strive to create a therapy space that is inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive. I’m mindful of the limitations of my own perspective and remain committed to ongoing learning and reflection. I truly believe you are the expert of your life, and our identities are multifaceted, visible and invisible, and deeply intersectional.
Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that already carry wisdom, strength, and the capacity to heal. You're the expert on your own life. I'm here to walk alongside you.
